The II edition of the Peptides in Biology and Materials: Bridging simulation and Experimental Data experimental data” took place from April 28 to April 30, 2026 in the conference hall of CoE UNITe with the financial support of project BG-RRP-2.004-0008 SUMMIT of Sofia University. The international event brought together 45 participants from 7 countries – esteemed scientists and young researchers who exchanged ideas and experience in the vividly developing field of peptide research.

The focus of the workshop was on bridging computational and experimental approaches to study peptide-based systems, which encompassed state-of-the-art topics such as peptide design, bioactive peptides (including membrane-active peptides and inhibitors of protein-protein interactions), peptide-based materials, processes at cell membranes, etc. The opening lectures were delivered by Prof. Vittorio Limongelli from Università della Svizzera Italiana, Lugano, Switzerland, and Dr. Elka Georgieva from Texas Tech University, Lubbock, USA.

The atmosphere was truly inspiring, marked by genuine interest, lively discussions and opportunities to form new collaborations.
Sincere thanks to all participants for their valuable scientific contributions, the creative environment and the unforgettable moments!
